Material & method
Lime, marble dust, pigment and time.
Venetian plaster is a mix of slaked lime and finely ground marble, tinted with natural pigment and applied in thin layers by hand. Each coat is polished into the last with a steel trowel until the wall takes on the depth people usually associate with stone.
It's a finish that rewards care — mixed to the room, sampled in the room's own light, and burnished when the moment is right. No shortcut ever really looks the same.
